Széchenyi Chain Bridge

Business Details
The Széchenyi Chain Bridge (in common parlance, often just Chain Bridge) is the oldest and most well-known bridge on the Danube, providing a permanent connection between Buda and Pest, one of the symbols of the Hungarian capital. It is also the first permanent bridge on the entire Hungarian section of the Danube. Its construction was initiated by Count István Széchenyi, and its financing was organized by Baron György Sina, who also gave the largest donation for the construction of the bridge designed in the classicist style.
The Lánchíd is a three-span suspension bridge with stone pillars and braces.

Lánchíd is the bridge in Budapest with the narrowest roadway: in addition to the two sidewalks for pedestrian traffic, only 2x1 lanes are available for vehicle traffic. In addition, the Lánchíd is the only bridge in Budapest with public traffic that is not directly connected to wider highways, instead there is a roundabout at both ends of the bridge, Széchenyi tér in Pest and Clark Ádám tér in Buda.

The bridge, built between 1839 and 1849, was one of the most outstanding engineering works of its time.
