Jedlik fountain

Business Details
The Jedlik fountain, made in 2012, with a wonderful turquoise soda bottle weighing 365 kg is the most modern element of the Gutenberg Square. The statue, which also serves as a drinking fountain, was created by the city’s famous glass artist, László Hefter. We can admire the glass windows he made in the cathedral and in several of our other churches. This fountain is a remembrance of Ányos Jedlik’s soda bottle, the spritzer (“fröccs”) and the innovative and youthful spirit of Győr.
